Our Key Stage 1 provision Year 1 and Year 2. We celebrate the unique strengths and needs of all learners, ensuring that every child receives high-quality teaching, appropriate challenge and the support they need to succeed. Through carefully planned learning experiences, we foster a strong sense of belonging, independence and confidence, enabling children to develop as capable and resilient learners.
Building on the excellent foundations established in the Early Years Foundation Stage, we recognise that children learn best when they are actively engaged in meaningful experiences. We therefore combine high expectations with opportunities for exploration, collaboration, play and enquiry, creating an environment where children feel motivated to take risks, ask questions and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.
We believe that learning should be purposeful, engaging and memorable. Through high-quality texts, practical experiences and a creative, knowledge-rich curriculum, children are encouraged to make connections across subjects, apply their learning in different contexts and build securely on prior knowledge. This approach ensures progression across both year groups, while allowing children in mixed-age classes to thrive alongside their peers.
