Learning

Our Curriculum

At JRS we understand that learning is:

  • knowing new things;
  • understanding more;
  • gaining and improving skills.

We also understand that we need to:

  • be able to talk about our learning and ask questions;
  • practise things we learn to improve/remember them;
  • think and make links between things we learn;
  • use and apply our learning in different ways.

Danger Zone

This is too hard! Your brain overloads because it feels so stressed. It means that you are not able to learn as well as you can. What can you do better or differently to support your learning?

Stretch Zone

This is challenging, but it links to some things you already know, understand or can do. By thinking about it and giving it a go, you can make progress with this learning. What can you do to make sure you stay focussed and persevere?

Comfort Zone

This does not feel challenging in any way. You are doing things that you have already mastered or know and understand thoroughly. What should you do? How can you add your own challenge so that you are learning?
